Recognition of Prior Learning
In some cases students may already have qualifications which can be given credit toward the completion of the course they wish to take. In these cases “Advanced Standing,” in recognition of the prior learning, will be given. A notification, in writing, showing the impact of this on course duration, and the units to be completed in order to graduate, will be given.
Currently within our undergraduate courses the following standard credit arrangements are in place:
- Completed Diploma of Ministry – Average 60+ = 1 Year (24 credit points) toward the Bachelor of Ministry course
- Completed Diploma of Ministry – Average less than 60 = 1 Year (24 credit points) toward the Advanced Diploma of Ministry course
- Completed Advanced Diploma of Ministry – Average 60+ = 2 Years (48 credit points) toward the Bachelor of Ministry course
Full details of PBC’s approach to and procedures for applying for credit for recognised prior learning are outlined in our Recognition of Prior Learning policy.
Current Cross-Crediting Arrangements.
PBC from time to time will have in place agreements with other organisations or institutions to provide credit towards PBC’s awards.
PBC’s current cross-crediting agreements are:
Jesus Disciple Movement (JDM) (South Korea)
PBC acknowledges Korea Disciple Training Institute (KDTI) and Korea Evangelical Theological Seminary (KETS) in JDM. Students who complete KDTI training, or 1 year of KETS course, will receive a 1 year credit towards the Bachelor of Ministry at PBC.
Full details of PBC’s approach to and procedures for applying for credit for recognised prior learning are outlined in Policy 19: Recognition of Prior Learning.
