Rev Stephen Poisat Rev Stephen Poisat Principal, Counselling Programme Co-ordinator & Lecturer TAE Cert IV, DipMin, AdvDip (Coun & Family Therapy), BMin (Pastoral), GradDip (Coun & Psychotherpay), MTh Steve Poisat is an ordained minister and leads the team at Redeemer Church in Landsdale, Perth (CoCWA). He has also worked as a chaplain in the WA Government school system and is a registered clinical counsellor (CCAA & ACA). Steve loves the ongoing rewards and challenges of leadership, pastoral counselling and teaching. He lectures in pastoral theology and counselling and is pursuing further research (PhD) into the implications of biblical theology for professional Christian counselling. Find out more about this person Dr Andre van Oudtshoorn Dr Andre van Oudtshoorn Academic Dean, Lecturer BA, BD, Dip Th, DTh Previously Andre has served as a Church pastor and as a TV director. Originally from South Africa, he has lectured in many lands and seeks to place Christ as the central focus in all he teaches and lives. Find out more about this person Dr Stefano Salemi Dr Stefano Salemi Senior Lecturer and Dean of Studies (Postgraduate) BA and MA (Relig.), AA and BA and MA (Theol.), PhDs, AFHEA Prof. Stefano Salemi currently holds an Associate Professorship and Research Supervisor status at the Sydney College of Divinity, and is a scholar of biblical studies, languages, and theology. He has also held or continues to hold research and/or teaching posts at various universities, including Harvard, Yale, Oxford, King’s College London, University of London, Chichester, Pretoria, Sheffield, and Jerusalem. He possesses the rare expertise of someone with multiple doctorates from the UK and Italy in Theology and Biblical Studies. He teaches, conducts research, and publishes in these fields of studies, with particular interests in biblical exegesis, hermeneutics, Hebrew and Greek languages and semantics, biblical theology, systematic-historical theology, reception history, and intertextual studies. He is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK). Find out more about this person Dr Stephen Young Dr Stephen Young Senior Lecturer and Dean of Studies (Undergraduate) BA (Cross-Cultural Ministries), BA (Sociology with an Emphasis in Anthropology), MA (Th) and PhD (NT) Steve Young was born in Ecuador and grew up in Argentina as part of a missionary family. Prior to moving to Perth in 2022 he lived and taught in the United States (Seattle, WA; Pasadena, CA; Houston, TX). He loves the New Testament, and especially the Gospel of Luke, (“I have fallen in love with the God of the Gospel of Luke!”). His current areas of research are social identity in relation to the New Testament, and a missional reading of Scripture. Steve is married to Susan, and they have a daughter, Freya, who also lives with them in Perth. He enjoys living creatures, especially dogs, and is quite taken by the Australian birds. Find out more about this person Dr Shannon Hood Dr Shannon Hood Dean of Counselling and Chaplaincy Cert IV TAE, Dip Couns, Dip Man, B Eng (Hons), B Th, GradDip (Coun & Psychotherapy), Grad Dip Min, M Couns, M Ed, M Comm, PhD Shannon lives in Melbourne with his wife, 4 teenage children, and pepper the Labrador. Shannon is a clinical Counsellor and supervisor with the Australian Counselling Association and was the founding member of the College of Christian Counsellors. Shannon concluded his first career as a senior manager with Deloitte and now is an ordinand for the diaconate ministry in the Anglican Church. He read theology at the University of Cambridge and now teaches, researches and practices where faith and therapy collide. Find out more about this person Dr David G. Michie Dr David G. Michie Senior Lecturer BA, BSW, MA, DTh David is the director of Journeylines Counselling & Training Services, and has over 35 years of counselling experience. David also works with the Ebenezer Aboriginal Corporation. He has been a lecturer for PBC since 1992 and has a desire for people to know, explore and live the realness of Jesus in all of life. Find out more about this person Dr Jenny Cox Dr Jenny Cox Lecturer Cert IV TAA, BSc, GradDipEd, BTh, BTh (Honours), PhD Jenny has been married to Peter since 1984. They have four adult children. Jenny has worked as a school teacher, been a full-time mother and lectured theology. As well as her role as an adjunct lecturer, Jenny writes theology books for ordinary people, ponders theological topics, and regularly teaches in church. In her spare time, Jenny likes cross-stitch, science fiction and police procedurals (both books and TV). Ministry, MDiv Nick has a background in systems administration. As well as serving us in the IT sphere he is also pastoring a church. Mrs Kari Minetto Mrs Kari Minetto College Administrator BSc (Hons) Bus Admin Kari grew up in Norway and completed a Bachelor of Business Administration at Bath University in the UK. Kari meet her husband Marcel in London and they moved together to WA in 2003. They now have three soccer crazy boys. Find out more about this person Mrs Judy Smith Mrs Judy Smith Librarian Judy is a passionate book lover and has worked at PBC as the College Librarian for over ten years. Judy also loves music, particularly from the Baroque period, and plays flute and piano. Judy is married to David and together they have three children, the oldest two are now married. Find out more about this person Mrs Debbie Allbury Mrs Debbie Allbury Receptionist Dip BusAdm Debbie immigrated to Australia from Zimbabwe with her husband Peter and two little boys in May 1992. Debbie has extensive experience within the area of administration ranging from marketing to running a training department for a large non-profit organisation to managing a market research company. Find out more about this person Mrs Sarah Park Mrs Sarah Park Office Assistant BSc(BA), BMin Sarah, originally from South Korea, studied business before coming to Perth with her husband Samuel and their two children. Sarah is part of the JDM mission organisation which reaches out to university students. Sarah works in the office at the College part-time. Find out more about this person Mrs Becky J Shaw Mrs Becky J Shaw Dean of Students / Admissions Officer BA(ELing), MDiv Becky completed a Master of Divinity at Torch Trinity Graduate University in Seoul, South Korea, and served in church ministries in various capacities before moving to Perth, Aus via Exeter, UK. Becky is married to David and has three children together. Becky is constantly seeking a way to express her creative flare whether it’s decorating a four-tiered cake or preparing a Sunday school craft. Find out more about this person
